The othersemi-final will be between Australia, second qualifier from SuperLeague 1, and India, winner of Super League 2.The stars in Pakistan’s victory were left-arm paceman Zahid Saeed,promising batsmen Taufiq Umer and Faisal Iqbal.Zahid Saeed continued his excellent form with the leather to capturefour wickets for 27 runs from 9.4 over as the West Indies, put intobat, were dismissed for 182 in 49.4 overs.Zahid removed the second half of the West Indies lineup to take histally of wickets to 15 from four matches. Zahid was very wellsupported by wrist spinner Danish Kaneria who chipped in with two for23 from his 10 overs.For the West Indies, C.Chattergoon was the top scorer with 44. His61-ball innings included four boundaries. Skipper R.O Hinds scored 32off 53 balls with one boundary. Both the batsmen added 84 runs from112 balls for the sixth wicket after the West Indies had slumped to 86for five in 29.1 overs.Pakistan, chasing a 183 for victory at the run-rate of 3.66 wererescued by a 116-run four wicket partnership between opener TaufiqUmer and Hasan Raza after they were reduced to 54 for three in 13.2overs.The partnership ended at the total of 170 in 38.2 overs when Taufiqbecame one of four victims of Hinds after scoring a fine 65. His112-ball innings was laced with six boundaries.Taufiq’s dismissal saw Pakistan losing three more wickets in space of16 balls to be reduced to 173 for seven in 41 overs from 170 for threein 38.2 overs. But Faisal stood like a rock to return unbeaten afterscoring 67. His 95-ball knock spiced with seven boundaries.For the West Indies, who finished third in the group, skipper Hindsfinished with four for 19 from seven overs.
